We are having problems with my child's instrument. What do we do?
Instrument issues happen, and when we can't fix it easily, we refer students to Quinlan & Fabish. If you are renting an instrument from them, you can get it repaired very easily. Go to the Q&F website by clicking here. My child has been sick for a while and wasn't able to practice. We don't know what to do. How can he/she make it up?
Extended illnesses can be excused, but students still need to complete assignments. Information about these assignments/assessments can be found in the Class Google Drive, or by asking the directors. |
How does home practice affect my student's grade?
We do not have weekly goal sheets or assignments, but we do have playing assessments that increase in difficulty as the year continues on. Home practice will be very important to the success of our groups, as a whole. 10 minutes of practice individually can make a HUGE difference in each rehearsal period during school. Where can I find the information that my student got in class?
You can find event information, and other downloadable materials on your child's Canvas page. What performances does the band or orchestra have coming up?
Both the orchestra and band have a few performances every year. The 8th graders will have more performance opportunities that the 6th and 7th as they are more advanced players. Check the calendar here. What should my child wear to the concert?
We wear black pants, black dress shoes, black socks, and nice white shirts. Our goal is to help our students look as professional as possible when they present their performances. You can find the complete information in the band and orchestra handbook. |
